Masih ingat waktu saya bikin AngelEyes dengan menggunakan Acrylic Rod dan UltraBright Led warna putih?Ada permasalahan yang ditemukan pada ekperimen #1 tersebut. Masalahnya adalah, UltraBright LED yang masuk ke Indonesia umumnya bermutu jelek dan intensitas cahayanya juga tidak sama untuk tiap LED nya.


Selain itu, UltraBright LED Membutuhkan masukan tegangan yang stabil di 4volt, kurang dari itu sinarnya tidak akan optimal, lebih dari itu akan cepat putus.

Gak heran kalo kita lihat produk-produk modifikasi bermerek ESDEPO buatan Taiwan yang menggunakan AngelEyes / Ring Light untuk mobil2 seperti Lancer Evolution, Honda, BMW E36, E34, dsb. Pada umumnya ditemukan LED ada yang mati/putus. Hal itu dikarenakan rangkaian LED tersebut hanya menggunakan Resistor sebagai pembatas arusnya.. padahal UltraBright LED membutuhkan LED DRIVER yang mensupply arus rata dan tepat bagi LED tersebut sehingga sinar yang keluar optimal dan tahan lama.
So.. lupakan Angel Eyes yang menggunakan LED deh … heheh.

Kemudian saya coba cari tau seperti apa sih dan bagaimana cara kerja si NeonWire ini.
Perhatikan gambar dibawah ini.

Terlihat bahwa lapisan pink pada inti NeonWire akan menyala ketika terjadi induksi listrik antara Core tembaga tengah dengan Ground Wire yang mengapitnya.
Untuk induksi listrik itu dibutuhkan inverter yang merubah tegangan 12volt DC menjadi listrik AC bertegangan tinggi (sorry belum dapat data voltnya).

Menyambung NeonWire ke Inverter dengan kabel, memerlukan trick khusus.

Jangan lupa bagian ujung NeonWire harus ditutup/sealed.
Bisa menggunakan GlueGun-Stick, sealer, dsb.

BIKIN ANGELEYES - Eksperimen #2

Nah… jadi gatel lagi deh untuk segera eksperimen bikin AngelEyes generasi-2.
Dikarenakan diameter NeonWire terlalu kecil (hanya 2mm) maka saya coba cari akal untuk membuatnya menjadi lebih tebal.
Jalan-jalan ke Lindeteves-Glodok akhirnya dapat selang Nylon yang berdiameter dalam 2.5mm dan diameter luar 4mm (2.5mm X 4mm).

Kemudian saya coba masukkan NeonWire ke selang Nylon tersebut…
Wah.. asik.. pas banget… tapi kok seret banget ya…
Kalo gitu aku lap pakai WD40 dulu biar licin.

Nah.. setelah masuk jadinya seperti ini deh.

Kemudian selang Nylon dipotong dengan panjang sesuai diameter lampu di mobil saya… Saya buat 4 unit.

Juga dengan NeonWire, disiapkan 4 unit.

PENYOLDERAN

Langkah selanjutnya menyiapkan perkabelan… ini yang agak males benernya.. hehe.
Supaya mudah instalasi dan bongkar pasangnya.. saya putuskan untuk menggunakan jack earphone stereo(male-connector) sebagai konektornya.
Namun karena saya ingat yang akan dipakai adalah tegangan tinggi, maka saya pakai hanya 2 bagian ujungnya saja, sehingga ground dari jack earphone tersebut tidak digunakan (biar ga kesetrum).

Jadinya seperti ini..

Selanjutnya konektor lainnya (female-connector) diparalel untuk masuk ke Inverter.
Selanjutnya mulai penyolderan kabel ke NeonWire..

Uhuy.. siap nih buat di test..

Segera sebelum hari menjelang gelap, saya pasang AngelEyes tersebut di lampu mobil.

Begitu mulai malam.. saya tak sabar mencoba..

Rasanya satu unit inverter terlalu lemah untuk mensupply 4 unit angeleyes.
Saya akan cari deh rangkaian inverter dengan output lebih besar supaya sinar NeonWire bisa keluar dengan optimal.

Pantat Yamaha Mio dan Nouvo goyang-goyang? Atau malah bergetar? Waspadai gejala ini dengan mencurigai ausnya komponen bushing karet yang menempel di mesin (gbr.1), atau laher yang sudah oblak di engine bracket (gbr.2). Tapi ingat keduanya punya gejala yang berbeda.

“Kalau yang rusak bushing karetnya akan terasa bergetar di kaki pengendara. Ini karena fungsi karet meredam getaran jadi tidak maksimal lagi. Biasanya hal ini terjadi kalau karetnya sobek atau bahkan getas,” buka Adi Sutisna mekanik X Speed Matic di kawasan Bintaro, Jakarta Selatan.

“Sedang bila masalah datang dari laher di engine bracket oblak maka gejalanya bukan bergetar tapi goyang,” lanjutnya. Ini yang bikin limbung saat menikung. Gerakan naik turun mesin yang sekaligus jadi lengan ayun tidak lancar tapi ada yang mengganjal karena laher rusak.

Umumnya rusaknya dua komponen ini lebih disebabkan karena faktor usia. Tapi kualitas jalan yang sering dilalui juga menjadi penyebab memperpendek usia laher dan karet bushing. “Kalau terlalu sering lewat jalan hancur atau melalui jalan berlubang tentunya akan lebih cepat rusak,” ungkap Adi yang jago ngoprek CVT ini.

“Kalau sudah begini langsung diganti saja. Harga karet bushing dijual Rp 10 ribuan satunya, sedang satu buah laher dijual Rp 30 ribuan,” ungkap Aksa dari Bengkel Yamaha Mulia Motor di kawasan Permata Hijau, Jakarta Barat.

Cara bongkar pasangnya sebenarnya mudah bagi bengkel atau yang punya alat traker khusus. Tapi kalau belum berpengalaman serahkan saja ke bengkel terdekat. “Kalau kita biasanya langsung diketok pakai palu,” tutup Adi.
